Freeze/Thaw / A. Maubert

Freeze/Thaw is based on two principles of altering the state of water. The solid and liquid states create a dialectic between rigidity and fluidity, order and chaos. The score is therefore structured around these poles to create the textures, rhythms, and overall structure: medium-low, low, medium-high, and high timpani; tom; snare drum; low, high, and medium cymbals; rim shot; dead stroke; medium-high, medium-low, low, and high tom; triangle; congas.
