Little Concerto / J. Gudefin

"I wrote this piece to allow advanced students to play a complete symphonic concerto, albeit with a virtual orchestra. The goals are multiple: to identify different timbres, to find balance with the orchestra, to count the measures... The second movement allows students to work on the vibraphone pedal, which can be in time with the beat and then every two beats; the slow tempo allows them to practice this synchronization. The first and last movements are more virtuosic and require work on fingerings, melodic accents, and memorization (characteristic intervals, the return of different themes, repetitions of phrases, etc.)."
